2023-2024 Biannual Report

Message from the PRESIDENT

As we present our biannual report for 2023 and 2024, we take pride in the continued success of our work in reproductive health, family planning, and population & development. Over the past two years, we have reached countless Filipino families, providing them with the resources they need to make informed decisions about their health and futures.

Our collaborations with local organizational partners have been key to these accomplishments. We’ve also maintained strong, productive relationships with government partners, including the Commission on Population and Development (CPD), the Department of Health (DOH), and local government units (LGUs), ensuring we advance shared goals.

Policy advocacy has remained at the core of our work. In the past two years, we’ve pushed forward critical discussions around preventing adolescent pregnancy. This includes our ongoing efforts to advance comprehensive sexuality education (CSE), equipping young people with the knowledge they need to make healthy decisions about their lives and futures. CSE is a vital tool in reducing adolescent pregnancies and creating a supportive environment for youth.

One of our proudest achievements during this period was the success of the 3rd National Conference on Family Planning (NCFP). This milestone would not have been possible without the invaluable support of our development partners: FP2030, UNFPA, and USAID. Special thanks go to the National Steering Committee (NSC) members, whose contributions were essential to the conference’s success, and to Dr. Grace Cruz, who chaired the Scientific and Program Committee.

We also acknowledge the vital role played by our co-convenors in the NCFP—DOH and CPD—and extend gratitude to my former home, the University of the Philippines Population Institute (UPPI), for its continued support.

This work is far from easy, but with the continued support of champions like Sir Ramon S. Ang, who sponsored our operations during this period, we have been able to persevere and continue making meaningful progress.

Looking ahead, it’s crucial that we sustain the gains made in reproductive health, family planning, and population development. The demographic window of opportunity presents us with a critical chance to shape a brighter future for future generations.

Lastly, I would like to extend my deepest thanks to the Board of Trustees, our advisers, and eminent persons for their unwavering trust and confidence in our work. And, of course, none of this would be possible without the tireless dedication of our secretariat staff—thank you for your passion and commitment.

Together, we can continue to build a future where every Filipino has the opportunity to live a healthy, empowered life.

Thank you.

DR. CORAZON M. RAYMUNDO

President
